SWISS resumes its flights from Sofia to Zurich

On March 28^th 2022 Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) resumed its flights from Sofia to Zurich. The first scheduled flight since 2017 was welcomed at Sofia Airport with a water salute by the Swiss Ambassador to Bulgaria H.E. Raymund Furrer, Deputy Minister of Tourism Irena Georgieva, executives at the Lufthansa Group and representatives of travel companies among whom Mr. Javier Garcia del Valle, owner and CEO of Happy Tour (Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey) and Mrs. Dimitrina Goranova, Regional Manager of the company.

Flights to Zurich are scheduled twice a week on Mondays and Saturdays. They will be operated with Airbus A220-300, which meets the latest standards in terms of cost-effectiveness and environmental friendliness. It is quieter and its fuel consumption is less to one-quarter that of other similar aircraft, says Sofia Airport.
